The SIMPLY SOFT story

The Simply Soft product line has been three years in the making.
I was tired of of stack overflow, out of memory errors, and
that madding search for that lost open file or hidden overstrike.
So I decided to write a small static utility library in C/C++ for DOS
that would take care of all that. Three years later, Simply Soft
gave birth to Simple Windows and the rest of the Simply Soft family.
Soon I will have linkable ASM MACRO's for use with any high level
language. More fonts and modes for reading HTML in text graphics and
a multitasking shell for DOS are on there way. Look for these and
  more in the near future.

Is Windows a virus?

No, Windows is not a virus. Here's what viruses do: They replicate quickly. Okay, Windows does that. Viruses use up valuable system resources, slowing down the system as they do so. Well...Okay, Windows does that too. Viruses will, from time to time, trash your hard disk. Okay, Windows does that, too. Viruses are usually carried, unknown to the user, along with valuable programs and systems... Alright... Windows does that, too. Viruses will occasionally make the user suspect their system is too slow and the user will buy new hardware...Yup, that's with Windows, too. Until now it seems Windows is a virus but there are fundamental differences: Viruses are well supported by their authors, will run on most systems, their program code is fast, compact and efficient, and they tend to become more sophisticated as they mature. Guess that means Windows is *not* a virus!!! [author unknown]
